7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.Voice of an Artist: Patrick Dougherty.  Primitive Ways in an Accelerated World. Dougherty builds sculptural works constructed of tree saplings throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. This lecture, opening reception and dedication culminates a three-week residency, during which the artist will work directly with students on a sculpture for Wheaton's campus. 7:30 p.m.Cold Fusion Ensemble in Performance.  The ensemble includes music director and guitarist Mark Volker, flutist Laura Campbell, cellist Florent Renard-Payen, tubist Dave Unland and regular guest oboist Ahmed Madkour, assistant professor of music. Their repertoire combines live performance on traditional western instruments with computer-driven electronics.
